Working Title has acquired the rights to Amped, an adaptation of Robopocalypse author Daniel H. Wilson's novel.

The project was initially set up at Summit Entertainment back in 2010. However, the studio let the rights lapse while they merged with Lionsgate last year. The story is set in a future where humans do battle with people enhanced by nanotechnology. No screenwriter has been attached to write the adaptation.

Alex Proyas is attached to direct, although it isn't known when this project will get off the ground. The project doesn't have a distribution deal in place with a studio as of yet.

The author's Robopocalypse will likely hit the silver screen first. Steven Spielberg is directing from an adapted screenplay by Drew Goddard. Chris Hemsworth and Anne Hathaway are attached to star in this DreamWorks/20th Century Fox co-production.
