World Wrestling Eintertainment has announced that they will team up with MyNetwork TV to air the popular wrestling show WWF Smackdown!. According to Variety, the deal comes after WWE ended negotiations with the CW on January 31st. The two companies couldn't come to an agreement even though the wrestling show performed well.
"The momentum at My Network TV continues with this major acquisition. This partnership with WWE is a perfect fit for viewers, advertisers and affiliates," said network president Greg Meidel.
Added WWE chairman Vince McMahon, "We have an unmatched record of delivering ratings success to every network partner we've worked with. We fully intend to bring that same level of success to MyNetwork TV."
MyNetwork TV is scheduled to air WWF Smackdown! as a weekly two-program beginning this fall.
