In a surprise to virtually nobody, X-Men 3: The Last Stand and The Little Mermaid took the top sales positions last week.

In a story from The Hollywood Reporter, X-Men 3 placed first "on the Nielsen VideoScan First Alert Sales chart" selling 5 million copies. The Little Mermaid took second place selling 4 million copies.

Taking the third slot in sales was last week's champ The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, with the X-Men Trilogy Pack placing fourth. Thank You for Smoking debuted at number six.

X-Men 3 was also tops in "Home Media Retailing's video rental chart" with the drama The Lake House slipping to the number two spot. Lastly, Thank You for Smoking came up the rear hitting the third position.
