With shooting scheduled to begin next month in Montreal on X-Men: Apocalypse, director Bryan Singer took to his Instagram page to reveal a new piece of production artwork, which confirms that the mutant Warren Worthington III, a.k.a. Angel, will be featured in the sequel. The image appears to show Angel locked in a cage at some sort of a circus, but it isn't known how this image will fit into the story line. It's worth noting that we haven't heard who is playing Angel yet, but we reported last month that actor Ben Hardy has signed on to play an important yet undisclosed character from the Marvel comics, so it's possible that he could be playing Angel.

The cast of this comic book adaptation includes Oscar Isaac (Apocalypse), Alexandra Shipp (young Storm), Sophie Turner (young Jean Grey), Tye Sheridan (young Cyclops) and Kodi Smit-McPhee (young Nightcrawler), along with X-Men: First Class star Rose Byrne as Moira McTaggert. X-Men: First Class and X-Men: Days of Future Past stars James McAvoy (Charles Xavier), Michael Fassbender (Erik Lensherr), Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), Nicholas Hoult (Beast) and Evan Peters (Quicksilver) will all return to reprise their roles, with Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, Halle Berry's old Storm and Channing Tatum's Gambit expected to have cameo appearances.

Ben Foster played Angel in 2006's X-Men: The Last Stand, but since X-Men: Apocalypse is set in the 1980s, it would make sense for a younger actor like Ben Hardy to take over the role for this upcoming adventure. Hopefully director Bryan Singer will shed more light on Angel's role in X-Men: Apocalypse as we get closer and closer to production getting under way.
