/x-men-apocalypse-jean-grey-cyclops-moretz-fanning/Back in early November, a number of actresses and actors were reportedly on a short list to play younger versions of Jean Grey and Cyclops in X-Men: Apocalypse. 20th Century Fox also plans on recasting Storm in this latest mutant adventure, but until now, we haven't heard that anyone was up for the role. Today, MoviePilot claims, in what might be nothing more than pure speculation, that The Vampire Diaries star Katerina 'Kat' Graham is up for the role.

Halle Berry originated the role of Ororo Munroe, better known as Storm, in the original 2000 X-Men, and went onto reprise the character in X2: X-Men United, X-Men: The Last Stand and this past summer's X-Men: Days of Future Past. But now, she is being replaced by a younger actor, as the story takes place in the 1980s. At this time, the studio has not commented on this potential casting, and this should be considered just a rumor. Some speculate that Kat Graham is perfect for the role because her Vampire Diaries character Bonnie Bennett carries a lot of the same traits as Storm, and the actress bears a strong resemblance to Halle Berry.

An earlier report claimed that Chloe Moretz, Elle Fanning and Hailee Steinfeld are all in contention to play Jean Grey, though we haven't heard anything further about that since the news first hit. That same story also cited relatively unknown actors for the role of Cyclops. Names included Ben Hardy, Charlie Rowe and Timothée Chalamet. Do any of these names spark any interest for you? Or do you think there is a better Storm out there, somewhere in Hollywood?
