Are you ready for the big screen introduction of Dazzler? That just may happen, according to X-Men: Apocalypse writer and producer Simon Kinberg. While the next sequel in the X-Men franchise is meant to connect to, and finish, the story introduced in X-Men: First Class, which was later continued in X-Men: Days of Future Past, Kinberg has long admitted that this last story in the trilogy will take place in the 80s. And that means introducing some Mutants that were very popular in the comics at that time.

The writer seems on the fence about Dazzler's introduction in X-Men: Apocalypse. But it could happen. Dazzler is a mutant with the ability to convert sound vibrations into light and energy beams, and was originally developed as a cross-promotional, multi-media creation between Casablanca Records and Marvel Comics to celebrate the Disco era. Says the producer:

"Could happen. We're certainly looking at mutants that would fit into the period.

Simon Kinberg feels a personal connection to this time period, saying:

"That's the era that I grew up in. The music, the fashion, the video games: We really want to integrate all of that in the movie, and have it infuse the movie with a different vibe."

It was recently announced that Alexandra Shipp is playing a young Storm in X-Men: Apocalypse. During this time period, the character sported a fan-favorite mohawk that we never got to see Halle Berry wear. It has yet to be confirmed that Storm will do so in this upcoming movie, but it sounds like they are going down that road. What do you think? Do you want to see Dazzler in X-Men: Apocalypse? Or is she just too corny of a character? Are there other 80s Mutants that should be resurrected for this adventure? Longshot and his mullet, anyone?
