Along with the first teaser trailer, one of the many things revealed about X-Men: Apocalypse at Comic-Con this past weekend was that it will have quite a few bad guys. Main villain Apoclaypse, played by Oscar Isaac, has the mean power of persuasion, which he uses to lure in the likes of such iconic Mutants as Storm, Psylocke, Angel and Magneto. This core group will serve as his Four Horsemen, who have been played by many different characters in the comic books over the years. But Apoclaypse and his henchmen aren't the only evil forces looking to rule the world in this franchise sequel. It has been confirmed today that Josh Helman will return as the mutant-hating Major William Stryker.

Director Bryan Singer revealed the information himself, when he shared a new photo on instagram. It shows Josh Helman standing next to fellow Aussie actor Rose Byrne, who returns as Moira MacTaggert. Major William Stryker was first introduced on the big screen in 2002's X2: X-Men United, where he was played by Brian Cox. The character returned in the 2009 franchise sequel X-Men Origins: Wolverine, where he was played by Danny Huston. Josh Helman is the only actor that will have played the character twice, first appearing in last year's X-Men: Days of Future Past.

What isn't know is if Josh Helman will actually be playing William Stryker, or if he will be playing another Mutant pretending to be Stryker. The last time we saw the character, Jennifer Lawrence had stolen his identity. She pretended to be the Major when capturing Hugh Jackman's Wolverine. There has been no plot details regarding Josh Helman's return, so it's all speculation until something more substantial is revealed. It seems clear, though, that Stryker will be sharing the screen with Moira MacTaggert. She is a geneticist and is an expert in mutant affairs who originated in the comic books.

When Josh Helman originally signed onto star in X-Men: Days of Future Past, he was set to play a younger version of Juggernaut. You may remember that the unstoppable evil mutant was first played by Vinnie Jones in the third installment, 2006's X-Men: The Last Stand. Juggernaut was originally going to be used in the segment where Wolverine and Professor X go to break Magneto out of prison. The character was replaced by Evan Peters's Quicksilver. But instead of leaving the production, Bryan Singer invited Josh Helman to stay on as Stryker instead. And it looks like it was a good choice. There has been no mention that Juggernaut is going to appear in X-Men: Apocalypse.

X-Men: Apocalypse is continuing to shoot in Toronto, after making a big splash at Comic-Con with the first teaser trailer. Official photos were released earlier today that show Oscar Isaac in his true form as Apocalypse. We also got to see Olivia Munn as Psylocke and Alexandra Shipp as Storm in an official capacity. We also have more photos on the way shortly, which reveal even more of the new mutants. The story follows the title villain as he is released from his Egyptian tomb to take over the world. He sets out to gather his Four Horsemen, who include Angel, Psylocke, Storm and Magneto. When Mystique learns of Magneto's disappearance, she teams up with Professor Xavier and a young band of mutants to stop the reign of terror that is about to be unleashed. The film is described as Mutant Vs. Mutant. While we await another sneak peek at the film, check out Josh Helman on set.
