Ever since production started on X-Men: Apocalypse, director Bryan Singer has not been shy about sharing photos from the Montreal set on his Instagram page. The filmmaker has posted yet another image from the set, which showcases the arrival of Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult. The actors will both reprise their roles as Mystique and Beast from X-Men: First Class and last year's X-Men: Days of Future Past.
Of course, there is very little we know about the story, except that it will be set in the year 1983 and will wrap up the trilogy with X-Men: First Class and X-Men: Days of Future Past. In both of those movies, there was always a hint of romance between Mystique and Beast, but it remains to be seen how that will play out, especially since there was a brand new timeline created after the events of X-Men: Days of Future Past. Naturally, nothing has been confirmed about what will happen to both Mystique and Beast in X-Men: Apocalypse.
The actors will be joined by Oscar Isaac (Apocalypse), James McAvoy (Professor Xavier), Michael Fassbender (Magneto), Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), Nicholas Hoult (Beast), Lana Condor (Jubilee), Sophie Turner (Jean Grey), Tye Sheridan (Cyclops), Alexandra Shipp (Storm), Kodi Smit-McPhee (Nightcrawler), Evan Peters (Quicksilver), Olivia Munn (Psylocke), Rose Byrne (Moira McTaggert) and Lucas Till (Havok). Bryan Singer is directing from a screenplay by writer-producer Simon Kinberg, with a May 27, 2016 release date already set. Take a look at the latest photo from the X-Men: Apocalypse set, and stay tuned for more photos and details as production continues.
