During 20th Century Fox's Hall H presentation at 2015 Comic Con, X-Men: Apocalypse director Bryan Singer engaged in a cryptic conversation with Hugh Jackman, who has appeared as Wolverine in every X-Men movie to date, but still hasn't been confirmed for an appearance in X-Men: Apocalypse. While the conversation certainly didn't confirm a Wolverine cameo, it did hint that one may be possible, and if a new report is to be believed, fans will see Wolverine in X-Men: Apocalypse. Journal de Montreal is reporting that the director is assembling his cast in Montreal early next year for reshoots, and that Hugh Jackman may be on hand.

This report hasn't been confirmed by 20th Century Fox, director Bryan Singer or Hugh Jackman, but it would seem fitting to bring the star aboard, to continue his streak of consecutive Wolverine appearances. The actor has confirmed numerous times that Wolverine 3, which is slated for release on March 3, 2017, will be his final performance as the beloved mutant Logan. It isn't known what the production may have planned for the actor's appearance in X-Men: Apocalypse, which is set in the year 1983, 10 years after the events of last year's X-Men: Days of Future Past.

Production wrapped on X-Men: Apocalypse back in August, following a four-month shoot in Montreal, where Bryan Singer also shot X-Men: Days of Future Past. Unlike X-Men: First Class, where Hugh Jackman merely had a cameo appearance, the actor had a large role in X-Men: Days of Future Past, where he was last seen being dragged out of the Potomac River by Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence), disguised as William Stryker (Josh Helman). The rehoots are scheduled to take place in early 2016 in two separate Montreal studios for "a few weeks," according to this report.

What's interesting is Josh Helman has been confirmed to return as Stryker in X-Men: Apocalypse. It's possible this movie could show the origins of William Stryker getting Wolverine to participate in the Weapon X program which gave him his adamantium claws, but that hasn't been confirmed yet. Regardless of what Hugh Jackman will be filming, it seems he will be back for his ninth X-Men movie, following X-Men (2000), X2: X-Men United (2003), X-Men: The Last Stand (2006), X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009), X-Men: First Class (2011), The Wolverine (2013) X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014) and the upcoming Wolverine 3.

X-Men: Apocalypse centers on Oscar Isaac as the title villain, who assembles his Four Horsemen on a mission to destroy the world as we know it. X-Men: First Class and X-Men: Days of Future Past stars James McAvoy (Professor X), Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), Michael Fassbender (Magneto), Nicholas Hoult (Beast), Rose Byrne (Moira McTaggert), Evan Peters (Quicksilver) and Lucas Till (Havok) all reprise their roles for the sequel. New cast members include Olivia Munn (Psylocke), Sophie Turner (Jean Grey), Alexandra Shipp (Storm), Tye Sheridan (Cyclops) and Kodi Smit-McPhee (Nightcrawler). What do you think about Hugh Jackman returning as Wolverine for X-Men: Apocalypse?
