Back in September, it was confirmed that an extended version of X-Men: Days of Future Past, dubbed the Rogue Cut, was coming sometime in 2015. Since that time, little has been revealed about the release of this altered version of the hit 2014 movie. Now, Fox Home Entertainment's executive vice president of marketing communications James Finn has come forward with some new information. And while we'll be getting the DVD and Blu-ray sometime this summer, no official release date has been announced.

James Finn says that the film will be a 'distinct' cut of X-Men: Days of Future Past, and that the release will not just be repackaging extras from the initial DVD and Blu-ray release. We'll be getting all-new extras that are complimentary to this particular version of the X-Men adventure. The alternate cut will also be released on Digital HD the same day as the Blu-ray.

X-Men: Days of Future Past will reestablish cut scenes featuring Anna Paquin as Rogue, which were excised for time. The missing scenes add up to nearly ten minutes of footage, which feature a prison break. Other characters seen in the footage include Professor X, Magneto, and Iceman. Producer Simon Kinberg revealed last year that these scenes were actually a substantial part of the movie, and bring a fullness to the overall storyline. Take a look at James Finn's recent tweets, which hint at what we'll see when X-Men: Days of Future Past hits midyear:
