X-Men Origins: WolverineA popular mutant and his adamantium sliced through the competition yet again this week... at least on two of the three charts. According to The Hollywood Reporter, X-Men Origins: Wolverine topped the national DVD sales charts for the second week in a row, the week ending September 27. The film also scored a repeat win atop the Blu-ray sales charts as well, but the film couldn't quite sweep all three charts like last week.

New release Ghosts of Girlfriends Past stopped the sweep by taking the top spot on the rental charts. The disc was in quite high demand on the rental shelves, as it drummed up twice as much rental revenue as X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Ghosts of Girlfriends Past also fared well on the rest of the charts, with a second place finish in DVD sales and fourth place in BD sales. The only other notable new release was the comedy Observe and Report, which took third place in DVD sales, rentals and BD sales.

While X-Men Origins: Wolverine repeated atop the BD sales charts, it faced some stiff competition from Star Trek: The Next Generation Motion Picture Collection in second place.
