Christopher Mintz-Plasse, best known for playing McLovin in last summer's hit comedy Superbad, has joined the cast of the Judd Apatow produced biblical comedy Year One. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Harold Ramis will be directing the project.

While plot details are being kept under wraps at this time, we can tell you that the film stars Jack Black and Michael Cera. Oliver Platt, David Cross, Vinnie Jones and Juno Temple are also in final negotiations to appear in the film. Platt will be playing a platform shoe-wearing high priest, while Jones is gearing up to play a palace guard named Sargon. Details on the other characters are sketchy at this point.

The film will begin shooting this January in Louisiana and New Mexico.
