The creepy and obsessive stalking will continue in the Netflix series You, as the streaming giant has just renewed the drama for a third season. Of course, the news is not particularly surprising, given the popularity of the show. Though it was released at the tail end of 2019 with just days left to go, the second season managed to make You the 5th-most popular Netflix show of the year. Still, the news is now officially confirmed, with the streamer also confirming the new season will consist of ten episodes and be released sometime in 2021.
You season 3 will also bring back stars Penn Badgley and Victoria Pedretti to reprise their roles as Joe Goldberg and Love Quinn; the latter was the love interest (or should we say target) of the former in You season 2. Co-creators Sera Gamble and Greg Berlanti also return to executive produce, with Gamble remaining on board as showrunner as well. No additional details about the new season's creative direction have yet been revealed, so for now, we can only speculate over what comes next for these characters after a compelling second season.

Created by Gamble and Berlanti, You tells the story of Joe Goldberg, a New York bookstore manager who gets bitten by the love bug when he meets young writer Guinevere Beck. His infatuation morphs into a toxic obsession as he resorts to stalking her, using technology to track her movements and manipulate her life. Things obviously don't work out well, leading to Joe moving to California to start a new life at the start of season 2. Unfortunately, old habits start to return when Joe finds the new love of his life in Los Angeles in the form of health guru and pro chef Love Quinn. Now, it's up to Joe to figure out if his love for Love is real or if he's once again losing his marbles.
Both seasons of You are now streaming on Netflix, so if you aren't caught up or haven't checked out the series yet, now is as good a time as any. The series has been consistently strong since its start and it's going to be interesting to see where the story goes from here.
