Thanks to this weekend’s Netflix TUDUM event, the curtain on You Season 4 has finally been pulled back just a little bit. One surprise that came alongside the first trailer, poster, and the revealed release date is that the fourth season will be split into two parts. Taking to social media, You developer and producer Sera Gamble has teased why this split was deemed necessary.

"Meet Professor Jonathan Moore," Gamble said in a caption alongside the recently released poster. A poster that promises a bloody good time when You returns. "You season four part one premieres February 10, 2023. Part two premieres March 10, 2023."

After confirming the release dates for Part One and Part Two of You Season 4, Gamble states, “Trust me, you’ll need the time to process… and maybe place a few friendly bets about where it’s all going.”

So, it certainly sounds like the events of You Season 4 are going to be...a lot, with the series giving audiences a break somewhere in the middle. Based on the violence and sheer drama that has occurred at the hands of serial killer Joe Goldberg in the past, it boggles the mind to wonder how things will get even worse.

Aside from teasing the reasons why You Season 4 will be split into two parts, Gamble’s words also seem to suggest that You Season 4 Part One will end on something of a cliffhanger, with the producer suggesting that viewers may be wise to place a few bets on what will come in Part Two.

However, this all shakes out; it certainly sounds like You Season 4 could be the most intense offering yet.

You Season 4 Will Take Joe Goldberg to London

You Season 4
Netflix

Produced by Warner Horizon Television, in association with Alloy Entertainment and A&E Studios, the first season of You is based on the 2014 novel by Caroline Kepnes, and follows Penn Badgely as Joe Goldberg, a bookstore manager in New York, who falls in love with an aspiring writer. What begins as an immature crush quickly escalates into toxic infatuation as Joe reveals himself to be a serial killer with an affinity for extreme obsession.

Following all manner of brutal and bloody violence, You Season 3 saw Joe’s life as a father and husband come to a typically savage end. Thus, You Season 4 will take things over the pond to London, finding Joe now living as Professor Jonathan Moore.

"Living in London has allowed me to bury the past, if you will," Joe says in the recent teaser. "I'm focusing on academia and instruction, while keeping my typical extracurricular activities strictly professional." Of course, it won’t be long before those ‘extracurricular activities’ rear their ugly head once more.

Starring Tati Gabrielle as Marianne alongside Amy-Leigh Hickman, Charlotte Ritchie, Ed Speleers, Tilly Keeper, Lukas Gage, Niccy Lin, Aidan Cheng, Eve Austin, Ozioma Whenu, and Dario Coates alongside Penn Badgley, Part 1 of You Season 4 is now scheduled to land on Netflix on February 10, with Part 2 debuting on March 10, 2023.
