In a story from Variety, Zac Efron is going to star in a remake of the Swedish thriller Snabba Cash for Warner Bros.

Efron will also produce this film.

Warner Bros. made the announcement this Wednesday that it had won the bid for the remake rights. Efron is going to play "a financial wizard who hopes to strike it rich quickly by creating money laundering schemes for a drug syndicate."

Snabba Cash translates as "easy money." It was based on the 2006 Jens Lapidus novel of three interlocking stories that are set in Stockholm. They follow friends who become involved with drugs and organized crime. The original film was directed by Daniel Espinosa with Joel Kinnaman.
