In a story from Deadline Hollywood, Zac Efron has recently signed on to star in Universal's Fire.

The film is an adaptation of a graphic novel from Brian Michael Bendis. It was published by Image Comics. In the film, Efron is a college student that gets recruited by the CIA. He soon realizes that the program makes agents who are "expendable."

Bendis will also write the screenplay.

Neal Moritz is going produce and Efron will also be an executive producer.

In addition to this, Efron put together another deal at Warner Bros. where he will headline a "Back To The Future-like film that melds two projects."

The first one is a pitch from writers Tim Calpin and Kevin Jakubowski, and the other is a project titled Algorithm that was initially being put together for Nick Stoller (Forgetting Sarah Marshall) to direct.
