Five years ago, Disney first announced a project that would bring another classic animated movie to the big screen as a live-action remake. Lilo & Stitch was one of the company’s movies that created a buzz in the early 2000s when it came out. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Zach Galifianakis has been confirmed as the first cast member of the live-action version of the story. A subsequent report by TheWrap has revealed that he will play Pleakley, the alien voiced by Kevin McDonald in the animated film.

It is no secret that Galifianakis is a popular name in the comedy world after starring in films such as The Hangover, The Campaign, and Due Date. However, he was also part of more family-friendly films such as Bob's Burge rs and The Muppets. He also voices animated films including Ron's Gone Wrong and The Lego Batman Movie. Having a career that is not restricted to just one type of movie, he is able to appear in films for all ages, which makes him a great candidate for Lilo & Stitch.

The animated film has a creative team that includes Chris Kekaniokalani Bright writing the screenplay and Dean Fleischer Camp directing. Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich have been selected as producers, with Ryan Halprin as executive producer. Our hope is that the movie will be an engaging and captivating work of art that we expect from Disney.
