Zach Galifianakis is in negotiations to join the supernatural action film R.I.P.D. for Universal, starring Ryan Reynolds.

According to Variety, the film is directed by Robert Schwentke, and revolves around a police force called Rest In Peace Department and a recently slain cop who joins the force to find the man that murdered him.

Phil Hay penned the script based on the Dark Horse comic.
