Zach Galifianakis continues to look for challenging work since breaking out in the surprise summer hit The Hangover. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the comedian has just joined Jay Roach's upcoming comedy Dinner for Schmucks.

The story revolves around the most pathetic guy ever to be invited to another man's weekly dinner party. Galifianakis is set to play an assistant manager of a mattress store who is dating Steve Carell's ex-wife. Other cast members include Paul Rudd and Lucy Punch.

Dinner for Schmucks is scheduled to start shooting this fall for a July 2010 release date.
