Will Zachary Quinto return as the villainous Sylar in Heroes Reborn? It's a question the actor is currently struggling with. On one hand, he wants to honor and celebrate the role that put him on the map. On the other, he doesn't want to take a step backwards in his career, which he feels this would be doing.

Creator Tim King has made it known that a select few members of the original Heroes cast will be returning for this sequel to the series. It's also considered a reboot of sorts. In the past, Hayden Panettiere claimed she had no knowledge of Heroes Reborn, and it sounded unlikely that she would return as cheerleader-turned-world's savior Clair Bennet. But shortly after she spoke publicly about not being asked to return for the series, it was confirmed that her on-screen father, Jack Coleman, would return for a second go-round.

This brings up an interesting question about Heroes Reborn and the storyline it will be bringing to small screens in 2015. If Zachary Quinto doesn't know if he is returning as Sylar, then how much about the potential plotline does Tim King even have laid out?

This is what Zachary Quinto had to say about the possibility of his return:

"I've been in touch with Tim [Kring, creator] and he told me they were doing this and we left the door open for me to be involved, the trouble is really my availability. I don't know that it would really even be possible. And it's a challenge for me because that experience and role and opportunity really changed my life completely and sent me on a path that I might not have otherwise have been on, but at the same time I'm very interested in forward momentum, I'm very interested in expanding and defying people's expectations of me.

I don't know that going back to such a definitely iconic character would necessarily do that. So it's a larger question that I haven't had to answer because no one's actually given me an offer. We'll see. I'm glad they're doing it and I know that whether or not I'm involved that the fans will enjoy it."

Heroes revolved around a series of unrelated individuals from around the globe who discover they have super human powers and must come together to save humanity. Heroes Reborn will continue that story. It will first launch online with a digital series in 2015, which will introduce new characters. This will be followed by 13 episodes on NBC, which set up a new stand-alone story.

What do you think? Do you want to see Zachary Quinto return as Sylar? Or should he just stick to Spock?
