Zack Snyder has officially been set to direct Warner Bros' upcoming DC superhero mashup Justice League. The project is expected to be a follow-up to Batman Vs. Superman, which begins production next month.

Specific plot or casting details have not been revealed, but it is likely that we will see Henry Cavill return as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman and Gal Gadot as Wonderwoman. Ray Fisher is expected to make a cameo in Batman Vs. Superman and then appear in Justice League.

Here is what Warner Bros. president Greg Silverman had to say about the project.

"It will be a further expansion of this universe. Batman vs. Superman will lead into Justice League."

The script for the film is still in development and the studio has not released an official release date of yet. It probably won't hit theaters until 2018.

UPDATE: According to The Hollywood Reporter's Borys Kit, Batman vs. Superman and Justice League will shoot back to back and that we may see the latter as early as 2017.
