Zack Snyder has long been synonymous with the DCU, even if he's no longer fully involved within it since James Gunn took charge. His movies full of stylistic action and his infamously powerful cinematography left a memorable mark in the now gargantuan niche of comic-based films, and fans of the director and his work turn out whenever he debuts anything new. It turns out that Snyder recently has been teasing vague hints of something new on his social media platforms, leaving many wondering what it could possibly be. Well now there's an answer.

Per a report from Collider, the hints turned out to be for a new commemorative event literally called Snydercon, which is coming to Los Angeles during the last week of April. The event will feature screenings of all three of Snyder's DCU films, including a first-ever IMAX debut of his version of Justice League.

Acclaimed director Zack Snyder made the official announcement for the special event during a Youtube interview with The Nerd Queens about his upcoming project Full Circle. Along with screenings of his films Man of Steel (2013) which saw the introduction of actor Henry Cavill as Superman, and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) which had Cavill go toe to toe with Ben Affleck's Batman, Snyder plans to bring a full-length, colored version of Justice League to the IMAX screen for the first time ever. The exceptionally long film, dubbed the 'Snyder Cut', came to be after pleas from fans worldwide in the wake of Joss Whedon's version of the ensemble movie which flopped at the box office in 2017. It had previously only been shown via the HBO Max streaming platform in 2021, dissected into a limited series to make it easier for audiences to absorb and enjoy. Snyder remarked about the planned IMAX debut.

"Because the IMAX version of Justice League, we have screened it a couple of times in the black-and-white version [Zack Snyder's Justice League: Justice Is Gray Edition]. I just wasn't sure there was going to be another time when we could get the color version into the theater."

Evidently that chance has now come, and fans will be able to relive the infamous 'Snyder Cut' of Justice League, this time in all its unmitigated glory. The event will take place at the Art Center College of Design and Universal City Walk in Los Angeles on April 28, 29, and 30.
