Steven-Elliot Altman's three part book series Zen in the Art of Slaying Vampires has been picked up by CP Productions for a big screen adaptation. According to Variety, Russell Mulcahy has signed on to direct the picture.

The story revolves around a couple who are turned into vampires after being attacked on Manhattan's lower east side. After the woman dies, the man must come to terms with his new found ravenous appetite. He turns to Zen meditation to curb his vampiric ways.

Altman is adapting his own story for the screenplay. He is also attempting to develop the narrative into a videogame. The film does not have a set start date at this time.
