Zodiac producers Brad Fischer and James Vanderbilt are developing the true story of the S-Bahn Murderer in Nazi Germany for a new thriller entitled Blackout, through their Mythology Entertainment company.

Mythology acquired the rights to Scott Andrew Selby's book A Serial Killer in Nazi Berlin: The Chilling True Story of the S-Bahn Murderer. The story takes place between 1940 and 1941, following the hunt for a ruthless serial killer within the Third Reich, and the detective who must confront the Nazis in order to catch the murderer. During a time when the British was conducting nightly bombing raids, the Berlin government implemented a "blackout" at night, with the only light coming from phosphorous paint on every street corner, bus and commuter train.

Mark Hogan has been hired to adapt the book for Mythology Entertainment, with Brad Fischer and James Vanderbilt producing and Mythology's Jon Silk, who brought the project to the company, serving as executive producer. No production schedule was given.

Mythology is also developing another movie set in Nazi Germany entitled The Nazi and the Psychologist, based on Jack El-Hai's book that chronicle's Hermann Goering's stay at an American detention center after he was captured. James Vanderbilt is writing the screenplay for that project.
